Might as well share this here. We have a quarter miler build going over in TRaK. Geezer's Garage has made a start on the 1/4 miler. Cannibalizing an old Revell Willys Gasser that I just hated and had stuck back in the junk pile. I'll be scratch and bashing it into an AA fuel Altered. First, the Old Man wanted a honking big Hemi for it, but we didn't have one. Economics being what they are, we'll be modifying the engine that was in the Willys. Looks like a big Ford according to the valve covers. The injectors came off and we'll be going with a large 4 BBL on the blower. Mating the front part of a funny car frame and the rear cockpit area of a dragster frame, both were in the junk parts pile. Those pics are on the way to Bob.

I guess I was wrong. It was an old AMT build.....but I still didn't like it. Heres how I'm mating the two frames:

Update: Have the front end pretty much made up. Using the axle and one of the rear springs from the Willys. Scratched a pair of coilovers. Gas tank off to the left - brass tube w/ steelie hubcaps for the ends.

Update: ;D Scratched a dash and have the cockpit ready. I moved the rear axle back about a quarter inch so the body will fit over everything better. All I have to do is scratch some kind of a wheelie bar thingie, and I can start putting stuff together. I have some front wheels and nostalgic slicks on order from Perrys. I've built this thing so far not knowing exactly how it's going to sit. I have a hunch it's going to sit higher than I would like, but it looks like those altereds sit all kind of ways.

These are my kind of builds here...looking good so far. I like the engine detail.. Ron Thanks, Ron. I hope you feel the same when I show the finished engine. I've been imagineering the fuel feed system and ain't got a clue if what I'm using is even the right equipment.

I have some more detailing done. Enough so I could glue in the engine and start hooking things up. Soaked the body in brake fluid for 2 days....just softened the 1 Shot that I had used, but I managed to scrape it all off. I'll be starting on the body and hope the wheels get in soon. Thanks for lookin, Geezer

I am EXTREMELY impatiently waiting for wheels from Perrys so I can determine mounting the body . I did get the painting started, tho.
