Probably would have had this finished by now, but I had to take the body back down to primer. Everything else pretty much ready for final assembly. I did scratch up a club plaque for it.

Man I hate setbacks, what was wrong with the body? I do like the club plaque you made, very cool.

Marc. for shiney finishes I usually use 1 Shot sign enamel thru my airbrush. I get great flow out. With grafix involved, I clearcoat with automotive catalyzed clear. This means I have to add a drop of the hardner to the 1 Shot colors I use, to keep the clear from crazing the enamel. First colors on the Rodent remained soft and I nicked it in a couple of places. I traced the problem to the primer I used. Initial primer was Duplicolor self etching primer ( great stuff !!). But I went over that with Duplicolor black sandable primer. Here in Florida, I have had terrible luck with any spraycan primer. The humidity just dosen't allow it to completely dry and I should have realized that. I have found out that (here) the duplicolor sandable primers clog up sandpaper instantly, unless you are wet sanding it. Anyway, The rodent is back on track, spraying over new coat of the self etching primer.

Glad to hear you are back on track with this one. Have you tried using a food dehydrator to help dry your paint? It should help the drying time, just a thought. I know Mj has been using one for quite a while now and really likes it.

Ok, here's the hood in the paint booth, waiting for the repainted body to catch up. I have a bit more to do on the body, but this is waiting for clear. Notice that the teeth are gone? One of them vibrated out while I was grinding on the rear of the skull. I removed the other one until final assembly. Weird. They are long and curved, arching up into the skull almost to the eye sockets. About 3/4" long. Only about 3/16" are visible at the jaw bone.

I don't mean to be a tease on purpose, but here's a shot of the 'Rodent' leaving the garage for the foto shoot. For some reason, every foto I took this morning was out of focus I didn't bother to send them to the Fotki. 'Cept for this teaser. I'll reshoot. Watch for it on the finished section. This turned out too cool to post crappy fotos.
