Thanks Paul. I did the scripts and grills with BMF. Me and P.E. just don't get along sometimes. BMF and I generally get along too. P.E. does exactly as I expect it to do. Shoot into the land of missing parts, stick to my 1-tweezers 2- fingers or Inky, 3- to exactly where it goes. . . but crooked / up side down. LOL same here with the P.E.

That looks great! Never realize it is 60 year old molds. Nice details on the car, hubcaps look excellent with the wash. Did you use the photo etch set on the hood vents and scripts? Paul Thanks Paul. I did the scripts and grills with BMF. Me and P.E. just don't get along sometimes.

Looking good. I like the color you chose for it, at first glance it seems to emphasizes the utilitarian nature of these early cars while still maintaining modern vibe with the subtle pearl, at least to my eye anyway. Nicely done.

Just curious, but what was the record offer inside? The Beach Boys? Looks like it was a mail in offer and part of a "Wheels" series. There were a few of them. It's a narrative of the Nomad story.

Not limited to any era or subject. Just for fun what's the one you like or maybe dislike? For me my favorite of all time Revell kit would have to be the Stone, Woods and Cook Willys, hands down. My least would be the legendary '57 Nomad Does not come close to delivering what the great box art promises. What's yours?

Thanks Paul. Time to do something with the interior, always my least favorite part of a build but necessary nonetheless.

Indeed. What I liked about the early Monogram kits was that they were molded in colors and looked good built out of the box without having to paint them. When I was like 10 years old that was important. Witness these original survivors: (I know, there's a little paint there but you get the idea)

A little more done. Out of paint and on to foiling. I like these old Testor's colors, I have quite a collection of them. I decant, thin with Testor's airbrush thinner and blow it on with my old reliable Paasche. Lays down well and never any "surprises". Fooling around with the washer tank..dipped in Tamiya clear blue then over coated lightly with Tamiya flat white primer.

I never really paid attention to the manufacturer if I liked a car. I do remember Revell seemed like they were more difficult to build than the others for my puny little modelling skills of the day. By the way, they're still around. I just registered. Cool. Yeah those old Revell kits were somewhat fiddly I.E the '55,'56 and '57 Bel Airs, as wheel as the infamous '57 Nomad, just about impossible to build. There is quite a following for AMT kits. Especially the vintage stuff...I know I'm hooked!

Sounds kool. I've seen that effect before and I think it's done with very fine pearl powders added to subsequent layers of clear. With pearls like that a little goes a long way.

Moving along. Checking fit and stance. Good thing I did too..serious interior tub tub fit issues showed up but now fixed. Hope to get it into paint this weekend.
