Newly completed one to add!


Revell 29 Ford Model A Roadster with Altered States resin louvered body and radiator shell. Z'ed frame and added vintage Revell Parts Pack Halibrand rear axle. Revell Parts Pack Cadillac mill, four twos with spark arrestor air scoops from Maple Leaf resin. AMT AlaKart front wheels and steering wheel, rear wheels and tires from Revell 29 Ford "Rat Rod" pickup, "chromed" with Molotow pen. Frame and body Tamiya Light Gunmetal, interior Tamiya Dull Red. Machine-turned metal surface decals used on firewall and dashboard. Radial backing plates on finned front wheel brake drums, from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland who also supplied the louvered headlamp buckets. Severe drop front and rear compared to out of box, with accompanying mods to frame and suspension.

AMT 32 Ford Sedan, mostly out of box but updated somewhat. Tamiya Pearl Green with insert Tamiya Olive Green and interior Tamiya Pearl Blue trimmed with Tamiya Mica Blue.

My friend Dennis' 1940 (maybe its a 1941?) Willys pickup drag car, not quite completed but done for now, I am going to let him look at it in the display case for a year or so.

Well thank you, harron, that's very kind of you.

Heres another, this one an AMT Chevy II Nova from the ancient kit, built pretty much out of the box with the Kustom parts, but swapped in a FI small block from the Revell Black Widow 57 Chevy, a total upgrade in performance, if perhaps not in kool factor, over the fuel injected six cylinder that came with the kit. Hardware store paint covered with Tamiya Red Clear and regular Clear.

Another Vintage Victim! Wanted a period kind of slab sided kustom and it turned out pretty good with some considerable molding on the front and rear plus removing trim from side and molding in rear fender skirts (good luck changing a tire on the side of the freeway!)

A quick build of a Bosozoku influenced JDM Diahatsu Mira, pretty obscure for the USA, but kind of reminiscent of the Chevrolet Sprint. The homage to the Prancing Horse is obvious and intended!

American Bantam pickup, was supposed to be 1/24 scale but more like 1/20 I think. Diecast Coca Cola originally, stripped the paint and repainted Tamiya Metallic Black/Bright Orange, with decals from Fremont Racing. Detailed the interior some, also the pickup bed, and some modern wheels and tires. Headlamps are Replica and Miniatures of Maryland's louvered headlamp buckets. Ala Kart side pipes. Tinted glass. Handmade taillamps that I am not in love with. It was a fun little project and a unique looking shelf sitter.

AMT parts pack Ford T bucket body and turtledeck mounted onto AMT Double Dragster chassis with most running gear also from that kit. Flathead from Revell 50 Ford pickup truck, with Model Car Garage Evans flat heads. Frame shortened and smoothed, floorboard and details added to pilot's area, Moon tank constructed from spare parts topped by Replica and Miniatures of Maryland three ear knockoffs. Exhaust headers cut from the Double Dragster kit, injection stacks from shoelace ferrels, magneto polished aluminum tube. Drag chute from parts box and mount fabricated.

















Last minute alteration when the track told me I couldn't run Gasser. Nothing some gaffer tape and electrical tape couldn't correct.

Pure creativity! The flathead "T" is genius. Almost no builder will choose anything pre-OHV for a race car. Once again, big congrats for entertaining us with that mind and those skills!

Monogram Uncertain T, build salvaged from numerous junkyards, with the addition of Curt Raitz front wire wheels, embossing powder carpet and a couple of engine details, otherwise right out of box including multi piece trophy, spokesmodel figure and display base, as painted probably back in the 60s.
