Next up. I've been wanting one of these for years and now I finally have one on the bench and getting started on it. As delivered All of the paint has been stripped. Then I got the multi piece body fitted and tacked together After getting the body solidly into on piece I noticed I needed to rebuild a small section of the drip rail. After a little roughing in I hit it with a quick shot of primer saw that I needed to fill seams and correct some other rough areas That's where I am with it. Man I dig restoring these old kits!

Oh yeah !!! I've been looking for one of these too , can't wait to see how yours turns out ! Stay tuned Bob! I'm going for a box art look with this this classic Monogram piece.....and I know you get that! Some other guys suggested I change the color but to me red is the only way to go. Hopefully the original decal sheet I have for it is still usable.

The decals in your photo look pretty decent , use a clear sealer and they should be good to go .

Really liking this one ! Question for you . . . is it worth the effort to decant the paint and use your airbrush ? That's one thing I haven't done yet .

I think so, mostly because of better control, especially in tight areas. I can also mix my own colors that way too. I only do that for bodies and associated parts though. I use spray cans for just about everything else.

I do like the challenge of making these old kits as good U can with the experience one have as adult and NOT change anything. Keep them commin, that goes for "tooold" also!!
