Alright, I downloaded a side view drawing of one of these, resized it to about the right size. Then I drew some flamage. I cut it out and traced it onto tape and cut it out! I am sure glad I traded one of those ole kits for the swivel knife and paint and such! That knife works very well for this! After placeing the tape on the body and such. I was ready to paint my silver onto the car. But as I was getting ready to pour the silver, a thought came to my mind. I am really wanting a white interior. Well, black goes with silver in my opinion. so I closed up the jar and poured some pavo purple instead. I am glad I did as it really makes the flames POP!! Not the greatest job, but for my first multi color paint job and my first masking job and my first flame job. I think it looks really cool! Now I cant wait to finish this girl up!! Let it dry for a couple of days and rub the body out. Place some decals on it then clear it! Mean time, I will start on the interior and try to finish the chassis. This has me interested in finishing so far at this point! Jody

Here is the 69 convertible camaro I have slowly been working on on the side. I can find the previous post right now, so here is a new one! I have finally decided to try a flame job with my airbrush! Wish me luck!!! I will need it! LOL. I have done the easy part. I started with snow white, then yellow, then ultra orange, then kosmos red. Next will be designing the flames and masking it off. Still debating the main body color? Cant decide metallic blue, pavo purple or a dorado dreams? But, I am this far! Also have to mask off the black chassis and paint the frame rails and tank silver to finish that off. Thanks. Jody
If people are having problems viewing this format, let me know and I'll see if I can convert it over to a different format.
I would love to see this video... but cannot see in this format. I cast almost everyday but all I know, is self taught, (live & learn) I'd like to see how someone else does it. Thanks! Bill

Ed Fluck of Drag City Casting told me that humidity was probably the cause for me having major pinhole problems. He says he casts in a room tht he keeps at almost 0% humidity.
I'm doing a little better now that I have a humidifier and a little more experience. If it wasn't so enjoyable, it would probably be more economical to buy from a commercial caster.

Looking good so far. I really like your air compressor. The only suggestion I would make is the floor of the garage, its on the bright side, I would either paint it a flat grey to simulate concrete or black to simulate blacktop, just my 2 cents.

I'm not much of a forum hopper. I can count the ones I frequent on one hand. I made a comment on one of them on how cool it would be to have a specialized forum strictly for Rat rods, rust, Junkers, rust, junkyard and old garage dios, rust, outrageous builds, etc. No box art. family seden OTB assemblys. trailer queens. show rods, Boyd type krap.etc . Alex Drake picked up on it, and, ta da !! Did it. Anyone interested, please take a look. IT's very new, just opened up today, so there is not a lot of participation yet. I'm there. http://therustbucketbrigade.proboards.com/index.cgi
Not bad. Casting is fun. If the humidity wasn't so bad here in Florida, I'd do more myself.
geezerman35 Although I've been doing more casting than I care to mention, I am still a back yard rookie. So please tell me what the humidity does to casting? Thanks! Bill

Well, I'm not painting yet, so the Willies is moldering away. I did slip out to the studio a few times trying to figure out what to do with the rear end of this abortion. I know I don't want any kind of PU bed on it. Tried the front fenders of a 39 Chev. and discarded that idea:
Sliced up some kind of tank off of an RC Jeep. Potential for something, but not this !
Finally decided I'd just bob the thing. Wheel tubs cut from a small plastic nail container:
